Gold Star Pokémon cards
All 27 Gold Stars from EX Team Rocket Returns to EX Power Keepers, ranked by PSA 10 mark.
What Gold Star cards are
Gold Star Pokémon cards were printed between 2004 and 2007 across the EX-era sets — EX Team Rocket Returns, EX Deoxys, EX Unseen Forces, EX Delta Species, EX Legend Maker, EX Holon Phantoms, EX Crystal Guardians, EX Dragon Frontiers and EX Power Keepers — plus Espeon and Umbreon from the POP Series 5 promo set. Each shows the Pokémon in its alternate "shiny" colouring with the artwork breaking out of the frame, and a gold star printed after the name. Twenty-seven exist. They were the hardest pulls of their era, which is why graded copies — especially PSA 10 — command the prices on the desk. The index tracks the group using sale-derived marks and reconstructed paths between observations.

Marks may average several sales or carry an older observation. The 12-month column compares monthly PSA 10 sale medians twelve months apart and needs at least three dated sales in each endpoint month — the counts stand beside every figure; a dash means fewer. The grade ladder beneath each one — PSA 9 down to PSA 1, each with the sale and the receipt behind it — the PSA populations by grade, the live listings checked against the mark and each card's weight in .GLDSTR are on the desk.

Questions
What are Gold Star Pokémon cards?
Gold Star cards are the 27 shiny-artwork holos printed across the EX era (EX Team Rocket Returns through EX Power Keepers, 2004–2007), identified by a gold star after the Pokémon's name. Their combination of low print runs and shiny artwork makes them the most valuable modern-era vintage chase cards.
Which Gold Star card is the most valuable?
By PSA 10 mark, Torchic ★ (Team Rocket Returns 108/109) at $2.70M with a PSA 10 population of 19, followed by Rayquaza ★ and Mudkip ★. Each card's page carries its own mark; the ranking with every price is on the desk.
What is the cheapest Gold Star card?
By PSA 10 mark, Raikou ★ (Unseen Forces 114/115). The Unseen Forces dogs (Entei, Raikou, Suicune) and the Legend Maker Regis are the usual entry points to the set.
How many Gold Star cards are there?
Twenty-seven: three in Team Rocket Returns, three in EX Deoxys, three in Unseen Forces, three in Delta Species, three in Legend Maker, three in Holon Phantoms, two in Crystal Guardians, two in Dragon Frontiers, three in Power Keepers, and Espeon and Umbreon in POP Series 5.
Are Gold Star cards a good investment?
This site does not give investment advice. What the data shows: the .GLDSTR index of PSA 10 marks is +277.6% over the last twelve months and +672.9% since October 2022, with a maximum drawdown of -37.7% and annualised volatility of 31% — these measures use reconstructed index history between sale observations and are not realised transaction returns. Past moves say nothing about future ones.
How is the Gold Star index calculated?
The .GLDSTR index is a fixed-weight basket of PSA 10 price relatives across all Gold Star cards, rebased to 1,000 at October 2022. Each card's path is anchored on documented PSA 10 sales, with the shape between anchors taken from that card's own PSA 7–9 trading. See the methodology page.
